Hand in Hand with Nature ...
In 2016 we planted our orchard with Cornish heritage Apple varieties, a range of different shapes, colours and flavours that celebrate our apple history. We now have 300 fruit trees, apple, cherry, pear, plum, quince and medlar. Our idea was to turn our harvest into a range of fruity snacks for adults and children that would promote healthy eating with just naturally occurring sugar, nothing added and using only British food miles. We worked on developing a range of apple fruit leathers using local apples and our Apple Shreds were created.
Cornwall is a global force in the food and drink industry with a fantastic local food culture and we as an artisan food producer are fortunate to be part of that. We recently were awarded a GOLD in the Taste of The West Product Awards - Vegan Category - for our 'Hint of Raspberry' and 'Hint of Cornish Seaberry' Apple Shreds.
“The inspiration behind the Apple Natural tree logo was a picture my son created when he was three and a half. I just love the colour, the shapes, the design and creativity. It was October and we had just bought the first trees for our orchard and at pre-school they were celebrating the annual Apple Day for the apple harvest, picking apples from one of the teacher's trees to make apple crumble and they all created a tree picture...lots of paper and glue!
